But as a rule of thumb if your having random freezes and you have an Asrock 970 Extreme3 try setting your SATA mode to IDE and seeing if that fixes the problem. ![]() Again I can't relate if this was just an issue with this particular SSD with this board in AHCI or if it was the board's own capability for AHCI being somehow limited. Remembering that I only changed two settings on this board the ram speed from the Default 1333 to the 1866 Speed and the HDD to AHCI Mode I changed the ram back to 1866 but left the SATA Mode in IDE, rebooted the system and so far it seems stable. I reloaded all UEFI Defaults and then double checked all settings vs what they were. Upon further investigation and as a last resort to having to go back to the Virus Microsoft Created, I decided to take a venture into the UEFI to figure it out.
